How to Properly Apply Shelf liners
Posted by qwcdirect
Shelf liners when applied properly ensure cleanliness in the shelf as well as spruces up kitchen drawers protecting them from dust. Several basic steps should be followed starting off with rubbing of alcohol or ammonia on the emptied shelves in order to wipe the residue off.
Use a tape measure to detail the lengths, first of the shelf and then the exact equivalent on the shelf liner. If you do not have a tape measure you can use the grid on the back of the liner divided into 1\2 by 1\2 inch squares.
Using a sharp knife, trace the correct dimension on the edges to guide a measured incision on the fabric using a pair of scissors. Then insert the liner into the shelf to fit while pulling it against the inner edges of the shelf.
Then pull it gradually on a backward motion to stick it onto the shelf and to smooth out the bubbles.
